Baby Blue is those ripples at the edge of the ocean as the tide bubbles and bounces – calming, but inspiring – a kind of certainty or purpose arises.

These KEEPERS are the story of unseen promise. Over many years, I have acquired the delights of gifted materials – from friends, family and clients. Beads, textiles, thread and yarn, paintbrushes…all have remained tucked away, biding their time, polishing themselves into diamonds. Only now I feel very motivated by the desire to make things out of existing materials - to keep making, but to consume less. To transform something un-used into something of use, a sort of alchemy.
The idea of re-using comes as a counter energy to a culture of disposability. Our resources are more precious than many of us seem to acknowledge. Thinking about this pouch, makes me realize all the resources that have gone into it — the water and earth and human labor of growing the cotton plants; the power needed for the machines that wove the textile, the labor of handprinting, the materials of the inks or dye.
Most of these materials chose me, I suppose. And when you find the one-of-a-kind KEEPER for you, I think it’s possible that it’s actually the object that is choosing you.
These KEEPERS promise to hold your dreams, your totems, your nourishment, your love. Let them.

These KEEPERS are the story of unseen promise. Over many years, I have acquired the residual delights of other people’s hobbies. My friends and family saw something invisible in me, and knew that I could make use of these materials … some day. And that day has come, and with intention.
The idea of re-using comes as a counter energy to a culture of disposability. Our resources are more precious than many of us seem to acknowledge. Many resources have gone into the growing of the cotton plants, the weaving of these plants into a textile, the printing of that textile.
Most of these materials chose me, I suppose. And when you find the one-of-a-kind KEEPER for you, I think it’s possible that it’s actually the object that is choosing you.
